Any Given Tiggle
The Story
Catching up on the NBA and NHL finals, talking the Incredibles, and what happened to the NCAA?
Jackson: What's good everybody? I know it's been a minute. We're back. We are five to nine and we are trying to make your nine to five feel a little bit more like your five to nine. If you're already in that five to nine, you're after work, you're beyond it, you're listening at two AM, who cares? We're trying to make it better regardless. And we are very glad to be back and talking to y'all. What's good, Tommy? How you doing, man?
Thomas: Yeah, man, been a minute. ⁓ hopefully Todd, well, he just texted we'll see him about five to ten minutes a little bit earlier than his normal pop in, I feel like from the the first handful of episodes. But no, it's been good. ⁓ busy, I was telling you, transfer or ⁓ traveled with the the indoor football team to Fishers, Indiana of all places. That was a a fun overtime win, but plenty to talk about. ⁓ and I feel like with Todd getting in here, we can kind of get his opinion on it. But
Jackson: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Vacation spot.
Thomas: what every other sports podcast is talking about and and Brendan Soresby. ⁓ I was trying to find the name of the guy that sports bet years ago. And he bet only like like three grand or or something like that. A and he's he was like banned, like can never play football again, this, that, and the other. And what was Soresby number? Like ninety K?
Jackson: ⁓ I feel like I saw a tweet about that. Yeah, he was I mean, and and just the amount of bets as well and the fact that it was on the team that he was playing for. ⁓ like it's not just like, you know, he was betting he was going Otani style and attending Texas Tech basketball games and well, speaking of Texas Tech, Texas Tech March Madness games in like twenty sixteen, four years before he was on the Dodgers or whatever. ⁓ like he was on Indiana betting on Indiana games. So I but I can't remember the other guy, but I did see that tweet.
Thomas: Yeah, so I mean, that just kinda shows and obviously you know, our buddies were mentioning it too. It's like there was a judge that didn't take the case and then it turned out the judge that took the case was from Lubbock County, which if you don't know that's where Texas Tech is from. I mean or Texas Tech is at. I I just it's it's ridiculous. Like I I just don't know.
Jackson: Yeah. Yeah. Weren't there like weren't there like four judges and they were all fr like Texas Tech alum or something like that?
Thomas: Yeah, like i it was so unbelievably biased. And it it also raises the question, and again, I think somebody said it or no so I think somebody said it my office, once like as soon as the report came out that there's a chance he's gonna play or like he got a a partner, whatever they called it. I don't remember the exact ⁓ judicial word, but ⁓ someone was like, Did you get in for big twelve for ⁓ Texas Tech to win the big twelve before Soresby got, you know, announced that he could play? 'Cause I mean like
Jackson: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ yeah. Did you get your bet in on them? Yeah. It they did. I mean, they're definitely gonna be, you know, even if even if he wasn't playing, they would still be among the top three or four favorites to win the Big Twelve, probably with, you know, Houston's got a good chance, Utah's up there. ⁓ but with them, I think they're probably the overwhelming favorites to ⁓ to win, especially after what they did last year with him.
Thomas: Those odds probably plummeted when he s he couldn't play. Like Yeah, I mean obviously a couple of pieces of that defense left, but you saw kinda the scheme that they ran and again at the Big Twelve. Yeah. Yeah. And then there's a couple other guys. I know ⁓ I mean it was like a six round draft pick, but one of their safeties ⁓ went to the Eagles and Cole was Newski.
Jackson: Yeah. The ⁓ Rodriguez linebacker. Yeah. Yeah. Well still, dude, for a Big Twelve defender to be getting drafted, you've got to be we've come a long way based on what the Big Twelve used to be in terms of defense.
Thomas: Yeah, and I I mean to that point as well, you were kind of saying Texas Tech is like top three, top four without Soresby in terms of the Big Twelve. I mean, you think about it too, maybe Oklahoma State makes a resurgence from where they were, but they were also what a a two win team. ⁓ they have a lot of North Texas's best players, including their coach, but at the same time, you're not gonna completely transform a two win team into a a Big Twelve championship team. A Arizona State, I know, has been consistently up there, but
Jackson: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And now that they don't have Yeah. No. Yeah.
Thomas: I I mean you add Sorsby into the conversation and it's Texas Tech's defense and and Brendan Sorsby, who obviously is a good football player, like
Jackson: Yeah, I mean this is a yeah, like this is a dude who's ⁓ you know, a top ten Heisman favorite in the country. ⁓ you know, he probably knows what his own odds are. He's clearly familiar with the betting odds. But ⁓ like it it it changes the landscape because last year Big Twelve, I believe, was a was a one bid conference. I think it was just Texas Tech that ⁓ that made it out. ⁓ obviously you have you know, you have You know, I still it's still hard to think of them even a few years in now to think of Texas and Oklahoma as SEC teams. But, you know, you remove the two powerhouses and the Big Twelve has kind of become, you know, what it is, but just without kind of those big brands. So it's kind of a battle to fight for those big brands. And when you have oil money, like you're in Lubbock, ⁓ and you can sway judges to get your, you know, top quarterback back despite breaking rules. I mean you know, just I this has been said a million times, but think about the ⁓ you know, in terms of comparisons, how minimal what Reggie Bush did and, you know, he didn't get his Heisman back till the twenty twenties, you know. ⁓ and it makes it seem minuscule and the stuff with Johnny Manzel and signing autographs. Like, it's crazy to think about how much college football has caved to money. I mean, even the whole expansion to a college football playoff, like ⁓ in expanding the teams. Like it's just it's probably the most corrupt organization in sports, the double NCA. Especially football.
Thomas: Yeah, I I mean yeah, football especially and ⁓ it's funny that as soon as they kinda expanded the college football playoffs, they're talking about doing it again, you know, and that kinda goes to your point of always a money grab and and always that. But yeah, they did it with basketball too. I mean it what I don't know how you could expand Omaha, ⁓ maybe. I d I don't think you could play enough games i in Omaha, Nebraska. But ⁓ speaking of SEC, that was five of eight teams in Omaha.
Jackson: Yeah. Like and they did it with basketball. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Thomas: Our SEC teams. You have West Virginia, Troy, and North Carolina, only three that aren't. It's what Texas, Bama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Oklahoma. Yeah. And Oklahoma was an underdog. They beat Kansas. What Kansas was ranked like fifteenth? Something like that. Yeah.
Jackson: Are the only ones. Oklahoma. Speaking of. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe Yeah. Kansas was, I think, about 15th. And when you talk about that, like yeah, and you mentioned, you know, hopefully they can expand Omaha. Like, there's been a lot of positive feedback. ⁓ and some people don't really even watch college baseball or know that much about it, or, you know, have even watched much of this postseason. But like I feel I I saw a tweet about it w how it's kind of still the most pure form of college sports. ⁓ that we still have, especially with the clips of like, you know, West Virginia ⁓ and they're singing after the games, like, and that's kind of what it's meant to be. And then, you know, it it feels kind of untouched. Like obviously you have to be into baseball, but it's been really, really exciting. You have a team like, you know, Troy make a run. West Virginia was playing Cow Poly. ⁓ Troy had to beat Little Rock to get there. Like Little Rock versus Troy in the final 16 teams, ⁓ it feels farther and farther away from what we're seeing in college football and college basketball. There we go. Quicker jo He's he's turned sideways, but he's in.
Thomas: There he is. He's sideways. He's sideways.
Todd: Hello, hello. I am. I'm sideways in the room too. It's not just on camera. I'm I'm losing gravity.
Jackson: ⁓ see, yeah. Yeah, there's always something. Honestly, at least the quality is good. Normally you come in on about like three pixels. This is ⁓ you're Caleb Williams?
Thomas: We're just gonna keep it like that.
Todd: 'Cause I I got the wired headphones now. ⁓ yeah, I got I cop some I cop the matcha the matcha phone.
Thomas: That's the play.
Jackson: How about your how about your boy on ⁓ on the Madden cover, ⁓
Todd: People are hating so hard. They really hate Caleb. Everyone people hate Caleb so much. They're like this is the this is the gayest thing ever. It's like
Jackson: Yeah. Is it based
Thomas: I feel like I feel like if Jared McCain was to the talent level that Caleb Williams is in the NFL, it'd be like the same way. Like that's just how people are. Like yeah, but he's not like a Caleb Williams esque player.
Todd: People like people like Jared McCain and he does things that are objectively way gayer. He does like he's like twerking on TikTok. Caleb like paints paints his nails before games against matcha. He's not like doing gay TikTok every day.
Jackson: Yeah. Yeah.
Thomas: Ha ha.
Jackson: Anyone?
Thomas: Well, that's what I'm saying. It's 'cause like McCain's this role player. If McCain was like an SGA level talent, like MVP, like then maybe
Jackson: Caleb's not making Caleb's not making thumbnails like I played against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, like on and uploading it to his YouTube. Yeah.
Todd: You think they would hate it? How many hot dogs can I put in my mouth? It's like he's not doing the what is it, the chubby bunny challenge with with with with Franks. Yeah, he was there. He was watching though.
Thomas: Ha ha ha. Chubby Bunny challenge, yeah.
Jackson: Did SGA do that too? He was a yeah. It makes perfect sense for ⁓ for the ⁓ the Thunder to get him. What are your what are your thoughts on on Brendan Soresby, Todd? That's what that's what we were talking about. Yeah, the gambler.
Thomas: Todd we we Yeah.
Todd: Is that the Texas TechQV? I don't know how he got reinstated. Like wasn't he like deliberately cheating?
Jackson: L he was he was betting on the team that he was playing for. ⁓ Yeah. So ⁓ probably to lose 'cause he was making way too many bets to make he made like what? Like a th like
Todd: Yeah. Like for them to win or to lose?
Thomas: It was like ninety K total, I thought.
Jackson: Like ninety yeah, like ninety thousand total dollars or bets.
Thomas: Bet ⁓ dollars over his like years.
Jackson: Okay.
Todd: Like how is he forget like reinstatement, how is he even like not in jail? Like isn't that like a federal crime? Isn't this what like ⁓ the NVA like the the N VA guy went to jail for he kept on missing threes? What's his name? Jonte Porter.
Jackson: Yeah. It's like in Who's the fucking Yeah, Jonte Porter? Like John T Jonte Porter made like one bets over one game. Like they were directly related on his performance, but like this dude made like thousands of bets over years and literally came out after and was like, I'm addicted. And they're like, You're back.
Thomas: Yeah. I couldn't think of his name.
Todd: ⁓ John Day.
Thomas: Yeah, but it's because i he this the timeline for me is like it came out, he's addicted and has anxiety. That's a cop out. I I feel like the like it maybe it the anxiety thing is a bit of a cop out. Addicted to gambling, sure, whatever. He goes to rehab and he's like a changed man. Which what he was in rehab for two weeks, if that. Like I feel like it was it was like bang bang a bang bang play of him going and him being out and being changed.
Todd: Yeah. What a player.
Jackson: That's a cop out.
Todd: Yeah. We should get Phil on the file.
Jackson: A two week stay in rehab is essentially just a vacation at a resort. Like that's fucking nothing.
Thomas: Literally. Yeah. And he's sitting there itching his neck, not being able to to gamble on the spreads of NBA playoffs. Like I just don't Yeah, yeah. ⁓
Jackson: He's making bets with the other rehab people. He's like, What what time are the nurse bringing in the pills today? ⁓ but yeah, well so that's so that's Soresby. We've got bigger topics though. We've got two finals going on. We haven't had an episode in like two weeks or something. We've gotta get into the NBA finals, Spurs versus Knicks.
Thomas: Man, I I I feel like well, a lot of the OKC and like Oklahoma generals become Knicks fans for this series, obviously because they lost to the Spurs and ⁓ I think it the discourse was so funny of like my my for you page or like my social media one day would be like, Here's Shay flopping here and here's Shay flopping here and then it would switch when like I heard
Todd: Yeah.
Thomas: a Thunder fan say something, my phone would hear it too. And suddenly here's Wemby flopping or like here's Wemby committing a foul that wasn't called. Like the the discourse of of going back and forth, I got both sides because I'm in Thunder territory. I mean Oklahoma City's an hour and fifteen minutes southwest of me. So like it's it's right there. ⁓ and then obviously I mean San Antonio's a little farther, but it's just the team that the Thunder was playing. But
Jackson: Yeah. Yeah.
Thomas: For the finals, it feels like with all the ticket pricing aside, like all that crap, and I know Josh Hart, which I respected, he commented on he wished it wasn't so expensive. ⁓ do you see that do you see that Celebrity Row went for a million dollars? Did you see that? Who is paying that? There so they auctioned him off. The Knicks auctioned him off for the first time like in their history. They 'cause they're usually not, you're right.
Jackson: Yeah, I saw that. Yeah. That's just ridiculous.
Todd: I thought those tickets weren't pretty good.
Jackson: Yeah.
Thomas: And the final tally was like a million dollars for two of ⁓
Jackson: Which is just ridiculous.
Thomas: I can't believe you're spending a million doll and they lost. They lost the game that you spent a million dollars on.
Jackson: Yeah. Like, I mean, I don't know, you kinda have to expect and s well speaking of territory as well, we got someone right up there in in Nick territory. What ⁓ what's what are the words on the street? You been out there ⁓ with the angry mob or no last night?
Todd: no, I was not there last night, but
Jackson: You weren't beating up Spurs fans in the streets? Yeah. Yeah.
Thomas: How much to wear a Spurs jersey and go outside MSG?
Todd: I don't think I feel like that would if you wi if they win, like you'll be fine, but if you lose I don't know. Yeah, like
Thomas: Have you seen those videos? Have you seen those videos after game three? It's insane.
Jackson: I mean you're dead. Yeah. That's what I was gonna I I was like I I was very unbiased. Like I felt like this was the f the first finals in a long time where I was like, I honestly don't care who wins. Like I think e as long as it's a good series, this will be hype until the videos last night where they lose one game, they're still up two to one, and they're out there just beating up Spurs fans, ripping their jerseys off, like kicking them on the ground in the street. And now I'm like, you know what?
Todd: Yeah, it's like kind of annoying.
Jackson: A I wanna see the chaos. B, like Loki, fuck that. Let me see the Spurs win. Like the Knicks really don't deserve shit.
Todd: It's like a gimmick that like everyone is just like doing. It's just like I they're not even they're just like the people that are beating people up are just like out there to beat people up. They're not even there to like support the Knicks.
Jackson: Yeah. Yeah. There will
Thomas: Yeah, facts.
Jackson: Every time you see one of those videos in the top right corner it's like a kickstream. Like it's just people out there like streaming like just violence on the street. Yeah.
Todd: Ch Chud the builder. It's just the one guy. It's in jail. no, I don't I don't think we like that guy. I don't think we like that guy.
Jackson: Gotta love Chud the Builder, bro. We don't support him. We don't support him.
Thomas: I mean I mean as a Philly guy, like obviously when they won the Super Bowl, like there was chaos in the city, but there was it was ⁓ Philly the people versus Philly the city. Like no one was getting beat up. Like i there was one and and the funny thing is, and I would put money on this, Brendan Soresby style, that if the Knicks win or the Knicks lose, honestly, whenever this series is over, Nick's nick on nick violence is going to happen. Like regardless. Something's gonna happen.
Jackson: Yeah. Yeah. No. Yeah.
Todd: Nick on Nick Violet.
Thomas: Something's gonna be said. It was close. I I caught it, but it was okay. Yeah. Yeah.
Todd: Or whatever is that?
Jackson: That's like a Stephen A. Smith where he saved it with Knickerbacher on first take the other day. but like we low-key need to have a conversation about Philly versus New York and their fans. Like, cause Philly's always the one that gets brought up w with this type of shit. Like in ⁓ my god, these Philly fans. Like I haven't seen Philly fans beating up people in the fucking street.
Thomas: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Todd: Nick neck violence.
Thomas: Yeah, I think the thing is is that like the n the New York fans haven't had anything to cheer for. And like the Yankees were recently in the World Series, but they were recently in the World Series what a handful of years ago, if you want to go back. But I feel like the Yankee baseball f like the baseball fans aren't gonna like ⁓ yeah, and I you know, if I picked a team to do something like that, it'd probably be the Mets. D even like to be if I wanted to pick one of the New York teams. But the Rangers stink, the Islanders choke the playoffs.
Jackson: Yeah, 'cause the Yankees suck too. They're more tame in general. Yeah. Yeah.
Thomas: ⁓ the Giants, whatever. They're gonna win seven games, the third in the division. ⁓ the Jets are obviously a dumpster fire. And then you have the Knicks. And I mean, yeah, the Nets, they're a dumpster fire too. But you finally have a team that's gone gotten to that point. Like the last time the Rangers were prevalent was like Hendrik Ludquist, who's now an analyst on the intermission report. So it's like, no, it it's a long time ago. Like
Todd: Hopefully.
Jackson: Yeah. Yeah. And their last finals was n ⁓ That doesn't sound good. Knicks were finals what ninety nine was their last time? Okay. So it's like most of these people, like, you know, like ⁓ none of us were alive when that happened. A lot of the people that are out in the streets or whatever, like they weren't alive when that happened. So they've never even had a moment like this. So I think it's just like a bit of craziness.
Thomas: Yeah. Yeah. I mean I've seen the comparisons of like interviews in ninety nine and interviews now. The interviews were like you know, like they're excited, like Nixon Five, like whatever they have, like the flags they're waving. And then the the interviews today are like, We're gonna burn we're gonna knock over the Eiffel Tower. Like like just like of outrageous things.
Jackson: Yeah. Yeah. It well it all started with the Trey Young shit too. When when they started doing those street interviews after Trey Young beat him and the dudes are on the street like fuck Trey Young. Like and and and all that shit. but what about in terms of the actual series itself? Knicks were up two ⁓ they're riding high and mighty, they're coming back to ⁓ their home territory trying to win and go up three ⁓ to basically put the series away. And they lose. So now the series has clearly shifted with game four tomorrow. what'd you think about the game last night? What'd you all think?
Todd: Spurs and six. The series is o series is over. It's Spurs I'm staying on Spurs. I said I said it was Spurs and six before the game. I was saying Spurs and six. They're gonna win that one. Wemby's Wemby's the best player in the league and he's gonna be the best player in the league for a while.
Jackson: Person six.
Thomas: Yeah, you stood firm. You stood firm last night after just one win. Yeah, no, no, I'm saying even after the one you were staying My thing the reason that I'm torn i and one of 'em's just a completely like moot point that doesn't have anything to do with actual basketball. Well, it does, but not actual like talent, I guess.
Todd: You're wondering how big Wemby's piece is?
Thomas: No, no, that's not it. ⁓ yeah, sorta. No, I was gonna say that like he needs the Spurs and Wemby like as a whole need that like or I thought so, and I thought it was gonna come burst the thunder in seven, honestly. that like heartbreaking moment that would kinda like like Wemby didn't even make the playoffs and he went and trained with the monks. Like imagine a ⁓ a Wemby that loses in seven in the West Finals or the or the NBA finals, like
Jackson: Close. Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Thomas: He'd probably go there and and solidify himself or isolate himself for months at a time and then the dynasty happens. But on the other side of things, and I guess this is like somewhat obvious, but if the road team wins the first four, ⁓ at one point d like because there's that, but if the Spurs tied up at two two, are you saying the Spurs are gonna win the next two, or with the Knicks winning game one and two in San Antonio, then San Antonio winning three and four in New York?
Jackson: Yeah.
Thomas: Does that repeat itself or does it switch and because I mean, you could say that San Antonio has the last two games of momentum, but the Knicks had that. And like it was close in game three at home, I guess, but
Todd: No. The Spurs went used to Yeah, like games three and four are just so much more important than games one and two that five and six are just it's like seven, eight, nine. Like that's why eight's scared of seven.
Thomas: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jackson: Yeah. Well, I also think that like I like I I think it's just been proven time and time again and I don't know what the reason is. Maybe it's because of variance in scoring or the three pointer or whatever it is, like or people just aren't as scared. Like home court advantage doesn't mean I feel like as much as it used to. Like I feel like it you know, like in the pa you know, if you take it back even ten years ago, you're down two ⁓ you're going to play on the road in New York. in a city that hasn't hosted a finals game in over twenty five years, like that's kind of just an auto loss. But like they didn't seem scared of the moment or the crowd or the road environment. And so it it like even though it's like, ⁓ no way they you know they ⁓ all of the road teams win the first four games, but it's like it honestly like I don't think it maybe even makes that much of a difference now. Like I think teams are ready to just kind of go play ball. So I I I 100%
Todd: Yeah.
Jackson: 'Cause the thing is in in speaking specifically about the game, like the Spurs didn't even really shoot that well. They kind of did it with their defense and were kind of able to make the clutch plays, ⁓ like the Castle Three and the Fox two at the end of the game. ⁓ like they didn't really even shoot ⁓ shoot it that well, and they had some good looks pretty much throughout the game. And so I think that kind of leads me to believe that they're like, All right, we still have a little bit more on the table. ⁓ we still have a little bit more on the back burner for game four if they hit their shots and I would not be surprised at all. In fact, I would predict it and expect it, ⁓ that the Spurs take game four in this thing is two two ⁓ going back to San Antonio.
Thomas: So Todd, you're thinking that even if they're gonna take the next three games in a row, they're just gonna completely flip the script.
Jackson: Three straight.
Todd: Yeah, I think the I I think Brunson is like I think those guys are tired. I think they're tired. If they lose this next game, it's over. They thought they were two games away. Now it's gonna end up being still two games away, but after they're they're end up playing four more. Like they they're not gonna make it in these late games, in these late in the late series. If this the further the series goes, it's it's more favored for the Spurs.
Jackson: Mm-hmm.
Thomas: Ghast.
Jackson: Yeah. And they're younger too, obviously. They're one of the youngest teams ever to make the final. So they're, you know, more equipped for it.
Todd: Yeah. Brunson's on the floor every day.
Thomas: I saw Yeah, that's true. ⁓ that reminds me of like and y make it about Philly if you can't, right? Like that's why I feel like Tyrese Maxie couldn't play as well as he could in the playoffs because he didn't have a bac he didn't have a backup. It was him
Jackson: Yeah, c I mean was he what before he got injured? He was the minutes leader before that injury? Yeah.
Thomas: Yeah. Yeah. And 'cause the I mean our depth after trading McCain was the ⁓ the starters were Maxie and Edgecombe and then Quentin Grimes, who's technically a shooting guard, but I guess at some points played a couple minutes for Maxie, but really replaced Edgecombe. So it's like Maxie was playing the whole game. So I mean to your point, Todd, it's similar. I they have more depth than Knicks do than the Sixers, obviously. That's the reason they made it all the way. But the Brunson plays
Jackson: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Thomas: you know, how many minutes out of the game and things change when he's there. And then another thing that comes up to me too is like I I feel like Kat played really well defensively against Wemby games one and two. And I don't I don't think that was the same for game three. I think Wemby had I mean y yeah, thirty two. So and Brunson had thirty two. Yeah.
Jackson: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah, he he definitely has.
Todd: Yeah. Yeah. The thirty two point.
Jackson: Yeah. And Wimby could have had more, to be honest. Like he missed some open looks. ⁓ there was that three pointer that got called off, or that was could have been a four point play. ⁓ like he could it really could have almost been a forty point game for him. Like he was kind of having his way pretty much all night.
Thomas: Yeah. I just don't understand how that changes from games one and two specifically in that matchup. A and maybe that's hats off to Mitch Johnson and him he made adjustments like one hundred percent. But
Todd: Yeah.
Jackson: Yeah. I mean if anything Yeah. Like the this the Spurs confidence is only gonna grow after that game. Like in the Knicks, again, you know, they're on this ridiculous winning streak. They hadn't lost a game since April, I think it is. ⁓ and now they kinda get punched in the mouth at home. But the thing is, like, if you think about it, like the Spurs have led in all three of these games. They've led, I think in the fourth quarter, all three of these games, but they've yet they're one and two in them. Like so the Spurs have to feel like after getting this one, they're like, this was kind of owed to us like, you know, the we've been in it this whole it there hasn't been Knicks blowouts like they were doing in to the Cavs or ⁓ i in the previous rounds. Like so the the Spurs have to, you know I mean it's obvious to say, but they have the momentum even though this next game is gonna be in New York again. I I just wouldn't naturally assume like a lot of people will that New York's just going to come right back and make it three one.
Todd: What's the lie?
Thomas: ⁓ let me look, Todd. So you're saying basically that analytically the Spurs are up three zero? Like ⁓ like the like the Cavs head coach. ⁓
Jackson: Yeah, analytically. That well that's what that's what ⁓ yeah, that's what ⁓ Kenny Atkinson was. ⁓
Todd: Counts just suck.
Jackson: The calves are just booty, bro. They need to blow that shit up.
Thomas: Yeah, they're pretty they're pretty bad.
Todd: Yeah. They need all the walk part of it.
Jackson: I remember we were on our ⁓ we were on our senior formal. The only ever NBA game I've ever been, we were in Miami and I was like, you know what, shit. I didn't have a date. So I went to the Heat were playing the Cavs in the playoffs. First yeah, I know, Chud. And and the
Todd: Right.
Jackson: The Cavs won by 45 points. And that's the the again, that's a first round game against the eight-seeded Heat. And that's the best thing I've ever seen him do. Donovan Mitchell is just he's never gonna make a finals. He didn't make it with Utah. He's not gonna make it with the Cavs. Like that in Evan Mobley's ass, like that team just sucks. But that's ⁓ well known.
Thomas: The Knicks, Todd, are minus at least what I have, my odds are a little bit different 'cause it's a social spurts book. But I know the guy of Knicks minus one and a half at minus one eleven. That's what I have.
Jackson: To win.
Todd: Mm, okay, that was the same line first game.
Jackson: I mean, I get I would go on record to say I'm taking the Spurs.
Thomas: Yeah, I mean I think so too, especially with the way that the first three have gone. On record. Confirmed. ⁓
Todd: On record. On record. This guy's on the record.
Jackson: On on record to the millions of viewers.
Todd: Confirmed. Show the ticket. Show the ticket.
Jackson: But I don't know, I just
Thomas: Well ⁓ I don't know, I I I go ahead, Jackson.
Todd: The tube unit.
Jackson: It it feels like the Knicks kinda have to even though they're the team that's up currently, it just feels like they have to empty the tank. Like
Todd: They in a must win. This is a must win. This was a must win. It was a must-win game two or game three for the Spurs. I thought it was a must-win for the Knicks yesterday too, because they won that, they won the series. Now it's between 3-1-2-2. I mean it's a must-win. They're all must-win. They're all must win from here on out. There's no more Yeah, all must win. Two two isn't must win. The two two game isn't must-win.
Jackson: Yeah, this is yeah, must win. Yeah. It's like Yeah. Like I just I truly don't
Thomas: As is the NBA finals.
Jackson: Yeah. Like it it is I do think it is kind of must-win because like and obviously that's corny cliche to say, like, obviously every game's a fucking must-win. It's ⁓ like you said, the finals. But if they don't win this game, I have a hard time seeing the Spurs going ⁓ and four in San Antonio. They get games five and seven in San Antonio. So if it's two two, I expect them to win one of those two games. and
Todd: This game is more muscular than if it's two two.
Jackson: you know, like that's just the way the world works. Like they're probably not gonna go ⁓ and four at home. And I think that's a major advantage with them being able to have that. Cause like I I and even if the Spurs did happen to lose the game tomorrow, like I I think that they're maybe their experience could help them in that sense where they're maybe not experienced to realize, ⁓ shit, we're down three one. Like, this doesn't happen often. No team comes back from this. Like I think They would just b treat it like another game, like instead of having all this built up scar tissue.
Todd: Yeah, and maybe they pick up like what if they had Noah Senge from next game too? Would that change things? That'd be how big a how big of a how big of an impact would that be? That would be a game changer. Talk about a game changer. I I saw something on Instagram it was like with the Caleb Williams cover and it's like Noah Senge, you're next
Jackson: Yeah. That'd be a bit yeah, that would ⁓ that would change everything.
Thomas: Big impact player, Noah Senge. They trade for Noah Asenge, starter for game four of the NBA finals.
Jackson: I mean
Thomas: The savior of sh the Chicago Bulls.
Jackson: What if McCain's the cover of the next 2K? Like that's in the cards now.
Todd: Jared McCain. No, it's not. How would what did he do?
Jackson: He's holding up his he's holding up his fingers like this on the cover.
Todd: What did he do this season to be the cover of Max Duca?
Thomas: Bruh.
Jackson: He made some threes, he made some vlogs.
Thomas: Get traded to the reigning champs.
Todd: ⁓ who who could be the cover? Wendy. Was he this yours?
Jackson: I mean, no. ⁓ it was SGA. It was like the boring cover.
Thomas: No, that was sh Yeah.
Todd: It could be Brunson maybe. Brunson
Jackson: Wimby's gotta be like minus well, okay, if Bronson wins, yeah, true. But Wimby's gotta like minus a thousand to be
Todd: It's Landry Shamit. I'm putting my money on Sham
Thomas: Yes. Yes. It's cat but doing Jackson was right, it's cat but he's doing this thing.
Jackson: Landry Shamit.
Todd: Landry Shamit to deluxe.
Jackson: Yeah. ⁓ yeah. They got Kat with on one side and McCain and McCain on the other. They're both holding up their nails. They got him posing like an SI swimsuit.
Thomas: Yeah yeah. St sales would plummet.
Todd: What if it's a cat but he's like meowing? What but but He's in a skin tight onesie. ⁓
Thomas: Ha ha ha.
Jackson: He's in skims.
Todd: Yeah. He skimmed to the toes.
Jackson: I want more I want more cat content to be honest.
Thomas: More cat content?
Todd: Like w like what? You want some more P lines?
Jackson: Yeah. Yeah. I think he should just lean into it at this point. McCain has it's worked out. He's getting views on his YouTube, right?
Todd: Is that what is that what the goal is? Views on the two?
Thomas: Yeah, yeah, I think so.
Jackson: Yeah. Be more just zag the other way. If everyone ⁓ there's gotta be a market for it. There's gotta be a market for a really gay leaning cat.
Todd: Maybe. Yeah.
Jackson: That doesn't sound right, but We'll sw we'll ⁓ so ⁓ game four.
Thomas: Yeah. Game four.
Todd: Game four, official picks.
Thomas: I mean the plus one and a half I feel like is stupid 'cause it's such a small spread. But Yeah. He's been good. I saw I saw something that it and it was
Todd: Dylan Harper point.
Jackson: Yeah. Dylan Harper, he
Todd: Yeah, he he's looky a he's looky a whale when you bet on him. He's been averaging like fifteen lines in like twelve every single game.
Jackson: Yeah, he's been kinda everywhere.
Thomas: I saw something that was the most obvious recency bias that somebody said that ⁓ he should have gone number one over Flag. And I and I if you put Flag on that Spurs team, it it's like Spurs in four. It's Spurs in three.
Todd: I saw something that was like the last ten years redrafted and Cooper Flag was number one. I was like, Is Wemby not in the finals right now? Wemby wasn't even two, it was like Zion too. I was like, What is going on?
Jackson: That's ridiculous.
Thomas: ⁓ yeah, that's wild.
Jackson: That fucking that's the stupidest. What the fuck?
Thomas: People just have opinions that they like to put out there that are just absolutely heinous.
Todd: It was
Jackson: I mean Harper Harper is great, but like I mean, let's be real here. Like i they if they have the opportunity to get fucking flag with Wimby, I mean they're they're s they're doing that in a heartbeat.
Thomas: Flag's so much better. Like
Todd: Yeah. Harper's good.
Jackson: What ⁓ now that we're now that we're getting closer to the to the draft, ⁓ what are the thoughts and opinions for Bulls at four?
Thomas: Harper's good, absolutely.
Todd: I feel like it hasn't changed. It's still hoping for Caleb. We'll take we'll take the other. Maybe trade back, build around a senge, see what we can do. Trade for trade Trade for like a
Jackson: Okay. That UNC to Chicago pipeline.
Thomas: This dude has not played enough for you to build around him.
Jackson: Build around the Senge ⁓ yeah, ⁓ a Synda a ski a Senge and Giddy, dude. That strikes fear into the hearts.
Todd: I I I I th I think a Senge has like four minutes and He had a season he had a season in ⁓ poor Poku. ⁓ I don't know, maybe No, I think he I thought he thought it was cancer.
Thomas: Yeah, no, this guy is not plain enough for you to build around him.
Jackson: I think Hoku got more minutes than him, bro. See in China. Who he was like the dude that looked like kinda alienish for the Thunder?
Thomas: ⁓ not was it Nikola Topic had ta cancer?
Todd: ⁓ Topridge got cancer. Wow, calling dudes going through chemo alienation. Just
Jackson: Does he actually have cancer? No way.
Thomas: ⁓ Nikola Topic had cancer, but he beat it.
Todd: No ⁓ another player did.
Jackson: Yeah, but he can't beat he can't beat Eric Spolstra, dude. He's never getting fucking minutes. Or wait, is that the one on the thunder? ⁓ I'm think yeah, sorry. Topic, Jovic, all those all those Slovanians, dude.
Todd: Ultra.
Thomas: That's Jovich. Topic and Jovich are two different people. Yeah. Very similar names. I saw something today, ⁓ flag talking about flag in Dallas made me think of it, that the j ⁓ Dallas is a trade partner, a potential suitor for Joel and Bede. Like what kind of package would that even would that even be? Like a bag of chips?
Jackson: Does That's what I lo I'm de I'm geeking at this. There is no public record of Alexeski Pokewski having cancer.
Todd: I don't know.
Thomas: ⁓ what ⁓ well there you have it. He just told you. I said that there's a p it's a potential suitor, but I have no idea what they would even Exactly like
Todd: ⁓ He just told me.
Jackson: Okay, okay. ⁓ what wait, what about Embiid to Dallas are we talking about? What would that trade package look like?
Todd: Like three three toothpicks that have been used.
Thomas: Yeah, literally like a half eaten bag of lay's chips in a high five.
Jackson: Yeah. A a a Dallas plate of barbecue and I don't know, maybe Chuck and Terry Rosier's contract.
Thomas: Somehow.
Todd: Cardi cardy Cardi B's silicone implants. Cardi D's. Should be Cardi B's after you take ⁓ out.
Jackson: Cardi D. She's Cardi D. That's true ⁓ whoever did you all see that clip? Who was cackling in that fucking clip where where Barclays at halftime, he's like, I see I don't think she's Cardi B. I I I see Cardi D and someone someone lets out a cartoon ass laugh. I think it's probably Draymond. Or Shaq.
Thomas: Ha ha ha Clay Clay Thompson.
Todd: It's gotta be shy.
Thomas: All three of them have cartoon ass laughs.
Todd: If those if those three guys played right now, who'd win? It's gotta be Shaq.
Thomas: It's Shaq, dude. Shaq's the most dominant
Jackson: Are you including Kenny or are you including Draymond?
Todd: Not including Draymond. Kenny sh ch chuck Kenny can barely walk.
Thomas: Yeah. Dude, have you seen him trying to run to the board?
Jackson: He can shoot he can shoot threes though.
Todd: Yeah, maybe.
Thomas: Bro, I don't care. It's Shaq and it's not a question.
Jackson: I don't honestly Shaq is Shaq is shoving him to the ground like Wimby shoved Brunson. Like I I you gotta take Shaq. That shit was awesome, dude. I don't care that and honestly I love the no call. Let him play.
Thomas: Yeah, one of the most dominant individual seasons of all time, Shaquille O'Neal.
Todd: That shove was electric. But the boys.
Thomas: But see, like that's the that the all the the Thunder fans were like, I can't believe they're letting him do this. Like and then Mike Brown was the what, twenty four to eight was the second half free throw numbers, twenty four for the Spurs and eight for the ⁓ for the Knicks. So Mike was like or Mike, him and I are on a first name basis. ⁓ Mike Brown was like, you know, they're a good team, like they deserve to win or whatever, but it's almost impossible for us to win.
Jackson: Mm-hmm. Saw that.
Todd: I don't like the cut of Mike Brown's jib. I don't like the cut of his jib Jib. Isn't that what it is? Cut of Cut of his Jib. I don't like the way he walks. I don't like the way he talks. I don't know. I don't like I I don't like
Jackson: You don't like the cut of his chin? ⁓
Thomas: His Jeb.
Jackson: You just don't like his vibe?
Thomas: He's been like under like under I'm trying to think of the word.
Todd: Also d yeah, Rick Brunson sucks too. I don't like the coaching stuff. He's a he's a he's a thug. He's like y out there yelling like he's a thug.
Thomas: Yeah. ⁓
Jackson: He's like is he like John Moran's dad?
Todd: No, not as bad. This guy's just like a I saw on Twitter he's an AAU dad. It's like yeah, he's literally just like a dad that's out there. Like it was like it like you need a you need to have some neutrality when you're coaching your son. You can't just be like
Thomas: He reminds me Have you guys seen the ⁓
Jackson: Yeah. Yeah.
Thomas: the Liberty Insurance commercial where it's like the ⁓ Doug, the Liberty Insurance guy is like coaching the the youth soccer. Yeah, that's exactly the what Brunson's dad is that. Like that's what that's what Brunson's dad makes me think of.
Todd: Yeah, I know, I know Doug.
Jackson: ⁓ okay, okay. Yeah.
Todd: Would you guys would you guys hit ⁓ Flo from Progressive? No dou no doubt. Which which version of her? 'Cause there's like hell of her the ones where she's like her slutty cousin. Yeah, is that like the s the blonde sister? ⁓
Jackson: Yeah.
Thomas: Dude. Jackson just no hesitation. ⁓
Jackson: Two beers. Dude, there's you seen the one that includes her sister? Yeah. I want both flows.
Thomas: Right.
Todd: ⁓ both.
Jackson: I thought you were talking about the the Liberty dude who's like Liberty Biberty. That's my favorite, bro. I love that fucking guy. Flosham? Yeah. You think ⁓ what about who's the who's the who's the like random white dude? Is his name like Andy or something?
Todd: You got a flotion. Yeah.
Thomas: Mm ⁓ mm. Mm mm. I don't know, but I know exactly who you're talking about. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Todd: ⁓ no one knows. Yeah, we know we know who you're talking about.
Jackson: But yeah, yeah. I I have nothing to say about ⁓ other than like you think they'd be on the low?
Todd: I think he's gay.
Thomas: Not crazy.
Jackson: That's probably more of a possibility.
Todd: Happy Pride Month. Happy Pride Month to him.
Jackson: Him and him and McCain are a thing.
Todd: Dude. Yeah, probably could be. It's like I have a boyfriend in the NBA. Who who's your boyfriend? Brandon Xavier Ingram. It's like a random homeless guy. He knew he knew Brandon's middle name.
Jackson: This is our this is our pri ⁓ yeah.
Thomas: Ha ha ha.
Jackson: I've seen yeah, I've seen Edit Stort to that clip of of Brandon.
Todd: It's like do you think do you think they do you think they hook up? Brandon and that random homeless guy?
Jackson: Well, isn't he isn't Brandon Ingram with like Lotto or like Glorilla or something?
Todd: They're all the same.
Thomas: Okay. The rappers are all the same.
Jackson: The rappers. The rappers.
Todd: Yeah, like they're out they all like Cardi B, Lorilla. Ice Spice is bad. She's she's Yeah. We could probably st we can probably get both of them on together.
Jackson: Yeah. Ice yeah. We we support Ice Spice. That's a future guest. Ice Spice and Mac McClung.
Thomas: I like it.
Jackson: We could swing it. We I mean, we had sexy red essentially was a guest at at at your house.
Todd: Yeah, yeah. Excuse me.
Jackson: not accepted.
Thomas: Brutal.
Jackson: Xie Red would not approve of that. Actually she probably would like it. Yeah.
Todd: No, she's a little weird girl, yeah. She'd like that. She'd like that. Yeah, other than that
Jackson: Other than that what? I thought you had a great point upcoming.
Todd: ⁓ There was nothing in my head. I I don't know. I didn't know.
Thomas: Yeah, I was waiting for you to go. Yeah.
Jackson: Alright, fair. Should we go to the other finals?
Thomas: I was just about to pull up the score. Yeah. It is three one Canes with one ⁓ eight left in the opening period. Yeah. I was gonna say, weren't the fellas talking about the under? I I think they changed once ⁓ Mr. Brandon Bussy was announced to be the ⁓ the goalie. Yeah, Bussy Bussy.
Todd: Is that on right now? Hopefully the can throw in.
Jackson: ⁓ wait, yeah. What the hell? Holy over.
Todd: Hella high scorn.
Jackson: Bossy?
Todd: Like NHL teams changing goalies mid mid finals. That's like if you just like I think it's like if you set out your center.
Thomas: What could you compare that to? Like I don't know if you could.
Jackson: Да
Thomas: Yeah, ⁓ center would be a good like quarterback's too important. Yeah, center. Maybe like your your power forward.
Todd: No, yeah, that's right.
Jackson: Your your running back, you're like Ramondre Stevenson. You fumble like two times in a game.
Thomas: Yeah. Yeah.
Todd: He did that a lot. And he stayed he stayed.
Jackson: He did. Yeah. ⁓ yeah, I I
Thomas: Well, the the whole the Brandon Bussey and Frederick Anderson thing is like I'm pretty sure Arbo is the one that brought it up this morning. Like the the stats look so much in favor of Brandon Bussey who's like a rookie and it seems like he almost played more games too. And I think there was a ⁓ yeah, B U S S I. I don't I think it's but I think it's how you pronounce it.
Todd: His last name is really Bussy. That's terrible, man.
Thomas: Yeah, it's it's a it's a bad one.
Jackson: He's probably like Russian or something, right? He can't be a I've never heard an American with the last name of Bussy.
Thomas: I don't know where he's from.
Todd: Starting a dude named Bussy in the start during Pride Month, I mean he'll probably go off.
Jackson: You're asking to get your pussy robbed.
Thomas: Yeah, I mean what is he he stopped four of five, so they only have five shots in the first period. The Carolina's fourteen.
Jackson: Well, here's the thing. With the way this series has gone, if VGK won this game, I would not even bat an eye.
Thomas: Yeah, true. Very true.
Todd: Side side side point right now. How is gator lead allowed to say it hydrates better than water? Is that like a legal that's that's allowed? You can just s you can just say that.
Jackson: Like, I mean I Does it just have more electrolytes?
Thomas: Is there a patent on saying water? Yeah, I mean these days.
Jackson: You can say whatever the hell you want.
Todd: But I guess who's defending water?
Thomas: I don't think there's a court case out right now.
Jackson: ⁓ Dasani. Well, it probably hydrate I mean Dasani tastes like straight salt in a cup, so I wouldn't be shocked. Dasani's the How do they have a
Todd: Who owns water? But always ⁓ Yeah Dason is terrible. Dasani's terrible. Aquafina's worse though. Aquafina's worse than the Sonic.
Thomas: Yeah.
Jackson: They're horrible. How does it how did it come that Dasani and Aquafina, the worst water brands, have like a monopoly on sports stadiums? Any sporting event you go to, it's Aquafina or Dasani, and they're the shittiest. ⁓ okay. There you go.
Todd: I think they're owned by Coca Cola and Pepsi.
Thomas: Yeah. Every once in a while I like the the canned the canned water. Just like every once in a while.
Jackson: It tastes like I mean, aquafina tastes like the the bussy juice of like runoff coke.
Todd: Like the liquid death.
Thomas: No, no, like the ⁓ not the can, but like the metal bottle, like the same like sixteen ounce coors light looking Yeah. What brand is that?
Todd: Yeah, I'll I'll take those every time. Yeah, those are fine. 'Cause like I I buy into like the health stuff and be like, ⁓ don't forget a plastic water bottle. It's like all right, I'll I'll I'll stop.
Jackson: ⁓ yeah yeah. Those are delicious, yeah. Pure water. Like the the best water is always just like the store brand. Like I'm drinking a Kirkland right here. The great value is awesome. No, no, no, no. It's just it has to be purified.
Thomas: Yeah, definitely.
Todd: Kirkland's fair. Kirkland's not good. No, y you need the you need their regional area. So like Poland Springs in like the east coast, Ice Mountain in the Midwest. I don't really know what's on the west coast. It's like you're I I used to. I I kinda like ⁓ Ascens Essentia's I think my favorite water to buy.
Jackson: We don't rock we don't rock with spring water here. I've never even heard of that.
Thomas: Todd, you be drinking that Voss brand, that fancy water?
Jackson: Cod is a voss guy.
Thomas: That doesn't shock me.
Jackson: I can a hundred percent picture Todd going to the airport and passing on the regular water to pick up like a Voss.
Thomas: Facts. Yes, one hundred percent.
Todd: I drink tap ninety nine point nine percent of the time. I'm a tap. In New York the tap water is good.
Jackson: Unfiltered tap.
Thomas: It just builds up your immune system. Now there's rats in that tap water, gang. 100%.
Jackson: In New York, the tap water's good.
Todd: That's what they That's what they say. They say the New York City tablaters are some of the best on it.
Jackson: That shit coming from the Hudson River, bro? Like where where are they getting their water?
Todd: No, I can't. Sure. I don't think so. That would be bad. I think probably just the ocean.
Thomas: Yeah. Hell nah.
Jackson: That's where Sully landed that plane.
Todd: He did do that. Debate Debatable Landing.
Thomas: Yeah.
Jackson: Good movie. ⁓ yeah, debate I don't know if that happened, dude. What's more debatable? The moon landing?
Todd: And I don't like Tom Hanks either. I don't like it. I'm sick of him.
Thomas: You don't like him? He's alive. Yes, he's alive.
Jackson: Is he a he's alive, yeah.
Todd: Yeah, he's a pedo.
Jackson: Did he voice ⁓ in that new toy story that's coming out, is he voicing Woody again or did they f ⁓ sent him to the sack?
Todd: Who's the ch chick cowboy? She gives me a woody.
Thomas: All right. You saw that on Twitter somewhere, bro.
Jackson: Jesse?
Todd: No, I didn't, I swear. I swear it was me.
Jackson: Dude, I heard Jesse gets knocked up in this next toy story. Is that tr I don't know if y'all saw that, brother? It comes out and the baby's flying like a fucking astronaut. Woody's gonna be all pissed.
Todd: Really? By bu by buzz.
Thomas: No, yeah, that's the that's the couple. It's not Woody and and ⁓ Jesse.
Todd: Yeah, no. He comes out with a helmet on.
Jackson: Well I isn't
Thomas: No, Woody likes ⁓ Woody's with Bo Pete. That ⁓ that sheep sheep lady.
Jackson: ⁓ w sh she's better than she's better than Jesse. Come on. Yeah, Lil Bro Pete.
Todd: Bow Peep.
Thomas: Yeah, she's the OG.
Todd: No, she ain't got shit on Jesse.
Jackson: Lobo peep's out that sheep.
Thomas: Bro. They're goaded. The claw? No, the the claw
Todd: What about the aliens?
Jackson: Aliens in the attic. ⁓
Todd: ⁓ like ⁓ Mrs. Potato Potato Head probably gives some fire shit. ⁓
Thomas: All right. We've lost the plot here.
Jackson: We
Todd: You can like move her mouth wherever.
Thomas: Gross.
Jackson: Yeah.
Thomas: Haven't had a podcast in three weeks. Todd has been freaking out, dude. He had to get that out.
Todd: And this is potato.
Jackson: Yeah. I've never she can move her she can move her mouth. And I know have y'all ever had a potato head toy? That back door is huge.
Thomas: ⁓ He's been holding that there's a it's a sticky note on his wall with that.
Todd: Yo, ⁓ You're putting the mouth at the back door?
Thomas: ⁓ bro. That's wild.
Jackson: If Miss Potato Head is calling, I'm picking up the phone.
Todd: Huh.
Thomas: Ha ha ha.
Jackson: ⁓ so how about those golden knights, dude?
Todd: They're terrible.
Thomas: We've put the wrong people on the pedestal. Noah Asenge and Mrs. Potato Head are on the same level in this episode.
Jackson: They fucking suck.
Todd: Yeah, they b both go to their f individual category.
Jackson: Yeah. Yeah. Like I mean, at worst she's top three. Like
Todd: I'm pretty sure the latest update is Noah Senge's taller than Wemby now.
Thomas: You've said that like ten times that he's grown.
Jackson: Noa Senge had a great summer growth spurt.
Todd: He is taller than Wemby. And
Thomas: Yeah, he got he got that length torture where they just like strap you to the the table and just extend.
Todd: No, he got the knee surgery but like he can't walk now. He just got that one the e knee extension.
Thomas: He's just super tall.
Jackson: It would just be like that fucking Florida dude. The dude who was like seven nine who just sucked on Florida. He was just tall.
Thomas: Olivia Rue or what
Todd: Yeah, he's terrible. I hate him. I hate that guy. Get him on the box. Do you think us three could kick his ass?
Thomas: He went somewhere, he went to some random university. We've talked about this. Yeah.
Jackson: He went to Fidelity, dude. He's selling insurance. Yeah. Three of us? I mean he can't walk.
Thomas: Yes, hundred percent.
Todd: What about just two about?
Thomas: Just two? I would say so.
Jackson: He he's I would say I would take just you versus him.
Todd: Us first Oliver LaRue. You think I you just have to kick his knee in once and then he's fucked.
Thomas: Yeah, bro. He doesn't have the movement.
Jackson: Yeah, I mean you run around ⁓ like you're what's the game where you you tap the ball around the tether ball? What's that shit? Just do yeah, wrap around ⁓ like the ATAT in Star Wars, how they tie its legs up.
Todd: ⁓ shit. ⁓
Thomas: Yeah, Tetherball. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Todd: That's how the ⁓ yeah, that's how the Incredibles win in the end.
Jackson: Okay, see that I think that's an overrated movie.
Todd: The Incredibles? Get the fuck out of here. Get the fuck out of here. Get the f No, dude, that's like the that's my favorite ⁓ anime top three top two animated movie for me.
Thomas: first one? That's a banger. That's a banger.
Jackson: Yeah, I do. I think I think it's overrated. I'm being dead ass. It's All right, look, let's take Mrs. Incredible and put her to the side and focus on the rest of the movie.
Todd: Dude, his his dr Mr. Incredible's the man.
Jackson: He's cool, I just think the movie's a little mid. It's just kinda boring.
Todd: Dude, you haven't watched in a while and you need to watch. Dude, the the island they go to, the little the contest they make. Dude, he's on the PJ and the Dude, the graphics are cra you could not either. He's a super mutant baby.
Thomas: Jack Jack is sick too. He could be so he'd be OP as an adult.
Jackson: I would beat the fuck out of Jack Jack.
Thomas: Bro, Jack Jack's like two, so I'd hope so.
Jackson: Yeah. Okay, that's true.
Thomas: But yeah, if he turns that little devil dude, Jackson's cake.
Jackson: Yeah, okay, all right. I why is the second one Loki better?
Todd: You gotta watch that movie again 'cause you you y you haven't seen in a while. I can tell. And you dude, you're talking about where Mrs. Incredible is the main character, it's a feminist empowerment movie. You're saying that's better that's the number two is
Jackson: Number two is and I haven't watched that in a while either. That's not what I was thinking.
Todd: I mean ⁓ it
Thomas: ⁓ is that the one that's the one where it's like like the dude kinda pushes the pushes the Mr. Incredible to the side, Todd? Is that that's that one?
Todd: That's all that's you though. I mean The the whole premise is like you really want a man to save the day again. That's kind of the the premise of the movie. I mean go ⁓ got good for them. Good for them. Not my cup of tea. S specifically for the incredible. Yeah, they put the goggles on Yeah, yeah. Like the first Yeah. The The first one, Mr. Incredible like is like he gets fakely recruited to this agency and he like he goes flying in the PJ, he goes to a nice hotel.
Thomas: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. That's the one with the goggles, right? Like the goggles get put on all the heroes. And they get taken over. Yeah. Yeah.
Jackson: That's the second one? I've clearly got him confused.
Todd: There's like the sexy silver haired lady like the the tall evil guy, he's like it's he's like he's like throwing down the sign of
Thomas: Yeah.
Jackson: ⁓ it What about the short the short girl with the long hair? Where it like falls around her eyes? Edna, yeah yeah yeah.
Todd: Yeah. Yeah, the black Edna? Yeah, she's in the first movie. She's in the costumes. She walks around like this.
Thomas: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jackson: Okay, I'm tripping. I haven't seen the first one in a long time. I've I I've seen the second one like three times. I don't know. I keep watching it by mistake.
Thomas: Yeah.
Todd: Fantastic. Why are you watching the second one three times? What are you what are you and you you re you watched it again, so obviously you enjoyed it. I mean you can't
Thomas: Bro, first one's so much better. That's the and the first one has the clip.
Jackson: I've watched it all the I've watched the second one more than I've watched the first one, which is crazy to say.
Thomas: That's insane.
Todd: That's terrible, man. Absolutely terrible. You have homework tonight to watch the first
Thomas: The ⁓ the the clip the clip in the first movie the what's the what's the bad guy's name? What's the bad guy's name, Todd?
Jackson: Okay. I will.
Todd: ⁓ it's the f ⁓ Incrediboy is his name in the beginning, but then he switched He's got like the the top top hair
Jackson: The fat guy?
Thomas: Right. No no no. The the red the redhead Yeah, the guy that's like ⁓ yeah, and the it
Jackson: ⁓ he's Jonah Hill.
Todd: Yeah.
Thomas: Is that who voices him?
Jackson: Yeah, he's yeah, he's voiced by Jonah Hill. I know that. A hundred percent he's voiced by Jonah Hill.
Todd: No. I don't think so. And voting no one.
Thomas: And it's like the it's the start of all the edits I see the start of all the edits I see that's like now you respect me because I'm a threat and then it turns into like Kyrie just dropping dudes on the court.
Todd: Yeah. ⁓ honorable.
Thomas: Yeah. Yes, bro. What's his what's that hero's name? Syndrome. Syndrome.
Todd: What's the stand? What's the stand? Right, but there dude there's like seven people on the other photographs of net right next to the guy. What
Jackson: Jonah Hill and Michael Sarah. What?
Todd: How how are we supposed to trust these images?
Jackson: Who is who is this guy?
Thomas: That's just ridiculous. Who is that?
Todd: So you can't just that doesn't count as proof.
Jackson: Jesse Plimmins Wait, why are there so who's green who the dude from
Thomas: It just keeps going. There's just new people every time. That's crisp breath.
Todd: What's his name?
Jackson: The dude the dude from We're the Millers was
Thomas: This is ridiculous.
Jackson: Dude, who is out here creating all of these?
Todd: Good job, all right. It was me. I built it to confuse you.
Thomas: ⁓ my god. Yeah, you knew we were gonna talk about this. ⁓ my god.
Jackson: Damn. ⁓ he's got me crying real tears. That's awesome.
Todd: What is ⁓ what is what was the character's name? And who is he actually voiced by?
Thomas: Syndrome. Syndrome was his name.
Jackson: Synd syndrome. He had the syndrome. Yeah.
Todd: And w who is he actually voice by?
Thomas: I don't trust anything.
Jackson: ⁓ let's see.
Todd: I don't think it's Jonah Hill. This movie came out Yeah. Alright. So J Jackson knew nothing. Did you look up
Thomas: Jason Lee. I don't even know who Jason Lee is.
Jackson: ⁓ wait. Jonah Hill has been in the Lego movie and How to Train Your Dragon.
Thomas: That has nothing to do with the Incredibles.
Jackson: How to Train Your Dragon is a ten times better movie than The Incredibles.
Thomas: Never mind, we're good.
Todd: D dude, please stop. You need to stop. You don't know what you're talking about.
Thomas: We have to end the episode before he just completely starts saying things. That's not a good thing.
Jackson: Chandler would agree with me.
Todd: That's because Chandler's the worst taste in media that's ever been released. He just it has bad taste in everything. He listens to Somber and Kid LaRoy exclusively.
Jackson: What is wait? God. He's he's gone to a s our friend Chandler has gone to a somber concert, bro. Like you gotta you gotta you gotta s blow your shit smooth off at that point.
Thomas: Ha ha ha.
Todd: He was taking those little heart out. We are rooting for we are rooting for Chandler though, he just topped on the the Zenpin, so hopefully he'll he'll shut the Jackson on the other hand is doing seventy days hard on ⁓ No, he's doing seventy days hard on Viagra. He's just taking Viagra every day.
Jackson: Yeah. He just started his journey, seventy days hard on Ozempek.
Thomas: Yep, he's got that.
Jackson: On the ⁓ I'm doing yeah, s I'm doing seventy days the opposite. How bad can
Thomas: Seventy five Chud.
Jackson: Ha ha
Thomas: Ha ha ha
Todd: Sin staying hard for seventy days straight.
Jackson: Yeah, I was saying y'all are just seeing the top half. Well, if you're on YouTube. If you're on Spotify, sw switch that shit over.
Thomas: Yeah. It's even worse if you're on Spotify.
Todd: If you're on if you're on Spotify you can see the bottom half.
Jackson: Yeah. Spotify is just the bottom half of all of us. Well, for Todd it's just the left half based because he's sideways.
Thomas: ⁓ That's how the camera works. You have to have both of them playing. Yeah, yeah. Yes. It gave me a notification when you joined. It said Todd is in portrait mode. I said, okay. And now now it's just stuck there.
Todd: Yeah. Am I still sideways and never adjusting?
Jackson: ⁓ you're still sideways.
Todd: Nice.
Jackson: It's to be fair, this is well, as I say this, you have dog shit quality, but this is the best overall quality your ⁓ service or camera has been so far.
Todd: the mic is the is the mic good? Headphones?
Jackson: Well, when you held when you hold it up to your face, it sounds like you're talking on the the headset that Xbox gives you by default. Yeah. Or maybe even through your controller. ⁓ well before we 'cause I we're getting we're getting close on time here, but I wanna talk a bit about the World Cup 'cause we got a a soccer fanatic over here.
Thomas: Yeah. Default Xbox, yeah. But like that, it's fine.
Todd: Yeah, it's coming home this year. It's time.
Thomas: It's not.
Jackson: England's got the squad.
Thomas: Tuckle is literally a a double agent for Germany. That looks like the Templar flag from Assassin's Creed.
Jackson: I thought that was Sweden. No, that's England.
Todd: I mean could could never even no.
Jackson: That looks like a swastika.
Thomas: Don't be careful.
Jackson: We we'll cut that. We don't have the ability to do that.
Thomas: Yeah. Got that, got that.
Todd: Clip that.
Jackson: Our editor, go cut it.
Thomas: Yeah. No, s ⁓ I like Spain a lot. I that's obviously like very public. ⁓ Yeah, yeah. He he's he'll be in the in the cup. He was never out.
Jackson: Is ⁓ Yamal coming back or what?
Todd: He wasn't out, so at least
Jackson: Todd, you've seen Yamal in person, right?
Todd: No, I didn't I didn't never went to a game.
Jackson: You didn't go to that FC Barcelona game?
Todd: No type shirt.
Jackson: What? Well
Todd: I know. I know.
Thomas: That was like right after we visited you guys, right? I feel like. Well, yeah, but like we left and then
Todd: It was like Durant.
Jackson: Who's in ⁓ who's in England's group stage, Todd?
Todd: ⁓ Croatia Paraguay? No, Paraguay might be Yeah. ⁓ I for I forgot. No, it's like the hardest group. I think they have Senegal maybe.
Jackson: When when
Thomas: No, Paraguay's US. Croatia's good though.
Jackson: The but they they should win that shit. ⁓ easy.
Todd: I don't know. They have some good teams.
Thomas: I mean
Jackson: Like are are there any like dark horses or does this feel like a a year where it's gonna be kinda chalky and and the top favorites are gonna do well?
Thomas: ⁓
Todd: I mean there's r rarely ever been a time where a favorite didn't win the World Cup.
Jackson: That's true. But I mean like to make a run. Like last like in the last World Cup there was Morocco. Like what's what's the team that's gonna go on that like Morocco type run?
Todd: I like Morocco again this year, but I think a sneaky one I'll put out there now is Japan. I like Japan. I like
Jackson: Japan. You've been saying Japan.
Thomas: Yeah, I've seen some good things about Japan.
Jackson: What like d what
Todd: I like Japan to do well. I do like Morocco again. Morocco again, they're they're gonna be good.
Jackson: Okay.
Thomas: Morocco is in a group with Brazil, Haiti and Scotland. US is us, Paraguay, Australia and Turkey.
Todd: Yeah. Scotland could sneaky make it out of that group.
Jackson: Scotland.
Todd: Scotland could sneaky make it out of that group over Brazil.
Jackson: Yeah. What about what about Brazil? Like I feel like Brazil hasn't done anything in a while.
Thomas: England has Croatia, Ghana, and Panama.
Todd: Brazil's just like so like they're all just like cha cha the entire time. Like you kn the if they score if they if they do well early, they do well for a while, but like if they they get so down in their dumps. It's like if they can't cha cha like at least at the beginning of the of the game, it's like they're gonna suck.
Thomas: Yeah.
Jackson: Okay.
Thomas: I would say
Jackson: Yeah. They need to win they need to win their first game like four nil, otherwise they're fucked. Okay.
Todd: Yeah. Yeah, pretty much.
Thomas: I would say I would say if we want to go through the groups real quick, it's Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, and Chechia. I think Mexico takes that one. There's no
Todd: Mexica. I mean dude how many teams make it through each group this year? It's so weird.
Jackson: I don't know who Jesse is.
Thomas: And then there's there's Canada, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Qatar, and Switzerland. That one's just all bad. Like
Jackson: Qatar outside of their home country? Jeez. How'd they make it?
Thomas: Yeah. ⁓ I mean I guess Switzer I guess ⁓ Canada, but like that one's a whoever get mixed out of that. ⁓ Bosnia Herzegovina, it's some it's a super small country. You think so? ⁓
Jackson: Wait, what was that what was the other team you said after Canada?
Todd: Kinda sucks.
Jackson: Feels like there could be some value on that group. Like, I mean, Canada if Canada's the frontliner, like, I mean, it's fucking Canada. When have they ever done shit?
Thomas: Yeah. It then it's Brazil, Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland. Morocco's the fun one. Brazil's probably the one that's gonna win the group, but Morocco will obviously make it out of that group.
Todd: I think Scotland's the fun one.
Jackson: I like the Sc I like the Scotland shout, to be honest.
Todd: Should we should we should we put some should we do some group ⁓ some Tiggles coin on Scotland to make it out of the group? Should we should we We should we we should spawn right in Scotland. That would be a fun bet.
Thomas: Yeah, that one could be fun.
Jackson: Yeah. I can mess with that.
Thomas: That'd be fun. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm down. And then it's our group, US, Paraguay, Australia, Turkey. I mean US isn't great, but neither of those other three countries.
Jackson: That will be it. But we looked we looked good in our ⁓ in our like friendlies, right? Like we played Germany pretty solid. We beat Jamaica.
Todd: Really? Maybe.
Jackson: Can you take that into account or not really?
Thomas: Yeah. I mean yeah, but some of the players were probably were missing and whatnot, but at the same time, back I mean none of those Paraguay, Australia, and Turkey are not that good. ⁓ Group E is Germany, Curacao, Ivory Coast, Ecuador. That's Germany. ⁓ that's a fun one. ⁓ Netherlands, Japan.
Jackson: Ivory Coast, that's my team. They could be like the second team behind Germany.
Todd: Ever coast Avercoast just beat France in a friendly. Yeah.
Jackson: ⁓ really? Okay.
Thomas: Yeah. Yeah, and a friendly. ⁓ Netherlands, Japan, Sweden, Tunisia. That's a fun little group. ⁓ Japan would be the fun one there.
Jackson: Japan. I mean Tunisia are are they gonna lose every game by seven?
Thomas: They might. ⁓ Belgium, Egypt, Iran, New Zealand. I'm pretty sure Iran was in talks of being the team that's gonna leave up the most. Belgium's good. They have they're kind of old though, I feel like. ⁓ Spain, Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia, and Uruguay, Spain. Uruguay's gonna be alright. Yeah. France, Senegal, I ⁓ Iraq, and Norway. France. Yeah. ⁓
Todd: ⁓ Belgium
Jackson: Sneaky New Zealand? Spain and Uruguay is the second. France and Norway.
Thomas: Argentina, Algeria, Austria, and Jordan. That one's horrible. ⁓ my God. That's awful. I Argentina. Yeah, like the second one is just completely up for grabs out of that.
Jackson: That's ⁓ my god, that group sucks. Loki Jordan. I want any team, I feel like have you y'all have obviously seen the storylines, like how some teams have like struggled with the heat, even though it's not like that hot. But like I feel like taking I feel like it's a dumb storyline, but I feel like we're gonna look back at this tournament and it's gonna be like any underdog that wins is gonna like a hot weather team. Like I feel like any hot weather team, yeah. Like if they're from South America, if they're from Africa, you know, like maybe they're a good underdog play if their team is actually good.
Todd: Dude, those are just dumb storylines.
Thomas: Yeah. Like South American. Yeah. Right. ⁓ last two groups is
Todd: They do get like mandatory water breaks in the game though.
Thomas: Yeah, that is true.
Jackson: Like when you're on a r when you're running a marathon.
Thomas: Yeah, you got those little tables. Yeah, no, there is stops. Yeah. Portugal, Congo, Uzbekistan, Colombia.
Todd: No, like there there's like stops ⁓ every half for one.
Jackson: ⁓ okay. I'm so far out of that. It's stupid. Let ⁓ die.
Todd: So dumb.
Jackson: Columbia, I've I've heard good things about Columbia.
Thomas: I mean, probably Portugal and Colombia.
Todd: Like like what? Like what have you heard about Columbia?
Jackson: Don't they have that really dude that good dude who used to be good like ten years ago?
Todd: A good dude who f Falcow?
Thomas: That used to be good ten years ago.
Jackson: Like in one of the World Cups, like in the Brazil World Cup, like he had a standout moment and now he's kind of been washed ever since.
Todd: Brazil World Cup in twenty fourteen.
Jackson: Like there was one dude on Columbia who was like a rising star ten years ago and he never kind of became that star.
Thomas: I don't know, who could you be talking about?
Todd: I think he's Fal Cow. I don't know if he's fine.
Thomas: Maybe. last one's England, Croatia, Ghana, and Panama. Was that literally just England, Croatia? I'm not I wouldn't say it's the best group.
Jackson: All right, you keep going, I'm gonna look it up.
Todd: Let me see. Like that's the best group. Who is a better group?
Jackson: ⁓ this guy, James James Rodriguez for Colombia. That's who I was thinking of.
Thomas: Like in terms of competitiveness? ⁓
Todd: Promise?
Thomas: Gotcha. That's fair.
Todd: ⁓ yeah, he's pretty good. He was a star though. He was great.
Jackson: Okay. ⁓
Thomas: Mm-hmm. better group, Todd. I kinda like Netherlands, Japan, Sweden, Tunisia, Brazil, Morocco, Haiti, Scotland.
Todd: No.
Thomas: I mean England's a good group. England, Croatia, Ghana, Panama, but
Jackson: So the the two favorites are pretty strongly France and Spain, correct?
Thomas: Yeah.
Todd: To win it, yes. Those are the top two. England is third. Portugal fourth.
Jackson: Does France have like bad chemistry with Mbappe or is that just him and Real Madrid?
Todd: Yeah. France, IMO too many chefs in the kitchen. There's too many they have like the best players in the world on the team. It's too much. It's too much. Not everyone can be the star. Like their best player who probably is Mbappé is but there's also Dembelli on the team who just won the award for best player in in the world last year and his team just won Yeah, and his team just won the Champions League. So it's like who are you gonna run the team through?
Thomas: Yeah. They're so good that they have a problem.
Jackson: Balloon de Dior.
Thomas: And ⁓ Michael Elise's French and and he's got Elise's got the same amount of international goals as Dembele now in like forty less games.
Todd: Yeah. Yeah. And Elisa is fantastic too. That front three is fucking terrifying. ⁓ my god. Dembelli Mbappe and fucking Elisa. Jesus.
Thomas: At least it's ridiculous. ⁓ huh.
Jackson: So who's your who's your like honest?
Thomas: That's literally nuts. Like
Jackson: Who's your honest to God like gun to head pick, Todd?
Todd: To win the World Cup? England.
Jackson: Yeah. Okay. Are they like what, like two thousand, something like that?
Thomas: They're like third and third odds.
Todd: Plus seven hundred.
Jackson: Why why would why would this be the year for England? Like it's like a last ride for Harry Kane and then they have some good young guys.
Todd: Have you feel it it's it's in the air, it's coming home. I don't know. I feel like a coup three hundred year two hundred and fifty years ago they they lost to the US and lost their country. Now it's their time to to win the World Cup in
Jackson: Uh-huh. ⁓ okay. I get the narrative. What ⁓
Todd: And I don't know, they keep on making it to the semifinals or finals in every single tournament losing. I think they're due for a win. They have the manager, their team is good. Or they could just lose in the group stage, like disgustingly.
Jackson: Okay. I was just watching Netflix started releasing all those like untold UK and they're all like soccer football based. So I have been learning up like I ⁓ there was one on Jamie Vardy. That was pretty interesting. One on Liverpool's comeback in Istanbul. That was pretty interesting. ⁓ so I've I've I've been trying to get myself into the soccer mode.
Todd: He's the best. Corner taken quickly. Okay. You should just watch ⁓ the ⁓ what's something getting in the start, dude? You should wa have you ever seen the Have you ever seen the Deeny the Deen Eagle? Dean A! Deene
Thomas: Jamie Vardy Leicester City highlights. ⁓ That one's a good one. That one's a good one.
Jackson: I think I've probably seen it in like a a highlight reel of like best sports moments or some shit. What's the one where it's like ⁓ like you cannot scratch your eyes? That's that one okay. That was sick.
Thomas: That's from Wolves, isn't it? Or Wolverhampton or something or That's that that's Deeny. Yeah. Yeah.
Todd: It's that's Danny. This is truly one of the I mean did they s to get promoted, they'd save a penalty and then they go down and score. It's ridiculous.
Thomas: That that clip is sick.
Jackson: That's a great call too. That shit gives me goosebumps, even though I understand nothing. I I watching the Jamie Vardy one, I kinda wanna get a Jamie Vardy jersey. That dude seems awesome.
Todd: He's fucking s he he Leicester Leicester winning the Premier League was it was like the the lowest odds for a team to win a championship of all time and they did it.
Thomas: Yeah. Well
Jackson: And like I mean, look, I'm always gonna support a team that was five thousand to one
Thomas: Yeah.
Jackson: Didn't they just get demoted again, like even below the Champions League?
Todd: Yeah, that kind of buns now. They stack.
Jackson: ⁓ Jesus. To go from winning the Prems to get demoted to like league three is crazy.
Thomas: Yeah.
Todd: Yeah, I don't know what happened.
Jackson: Tottenham stayed up though. We love Tottenham around here.
Thomas: Hell yeah. Coys Yes we do.
Todd: Fairly. No we don't. No we don't.
Jackson: That's the one soccer game I've ever been to and shit was hype.
Thomas: electric. Well ⁓ we're we're taking Scotland to make it out of the group. That's the Tiggles official official pick.
Todd: Nice stank.
Jackson: Okay. We're taking Scotland, Japan, and Ivory Coast. That's the part that's the tickle's lay. Scotland, Japan, and Ivory Coast all to make it out of the groups.
Todd: Up the rock.
Thomas: Yeah. Those are good. That's the lay. I like it.
Todd: I like that. I like that. I like that. Type.
Jackson: All right.
Thomas: I like that a lot. All right. That's our final thoughts. Everyone needs a tail dead. All right.
Todd: All right.
Jackson: Yes, sir. Wrap we'll wrap it up with a a free money lay. Go put all of your hard earned money on sleeper, though. Use code GreenReading.
Thomas: Yeah, that's that's literally Franny. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course. Green reading on sleeper.
Jackson: But yeah. I don't think you can actually place it on there, but use the code anyways.
Thomas: I don't think so. Alright, well hopefully it's not three weeks before we do another one of these boys. Yeah, yeah, this time. You're all right. Yeah. Todd be doing that. In landscape mode. What?
Jackson: Yeah. We'll be back again actually soon this time. ⁓ we had some personal stuff. Todd Todd was trying to find his life.
Todd: Yeah.
Jackson: Toby doing. You refining yourself. You're on a spiritual path, like McCain.
Todd: What? Yeah, I'm on I'm on a spiritual journey right now.
Jackson: Alright.
Podbean
